This Privacy Policy explains how MonkeyTalker (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit monkeytalker.com or use the MonkeyTalker app.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: email address, name (if you provide it), password hash, plan and billing status. If you sign in with Google, Microsoft or Apple we receive the identifier and email shared by that provider.
- Content you upload: scripts, audio files, images and the characters and videos you create. Audio you upload may be processed to generate lip-sync and captions.
- Payment data: handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers; we receive a token, the last four digits, and the transaction status.
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, render events, device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP address, and referral source. Collected through Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics.
- Support data: messages you send to [email protected].
2. Why we use it
- To provide the Service: authenticate you, render and store your videos, apply your plan limits.
- To bill you and prevent fraud.
- To improve the product: understand which features are used and where people get stuck.
- To communicate: transactional emails (receipts, render finished, password reset) and, if you opt in, product updates.
- To comply with legal obligations.
The legal bases under the GDPR are performance of a contract, our legitimate interest in running and improving the Service, your consent (marketing, analytics cookies where required) and legal compliance.
3. Sharing
We share data only with providers needed to run the Service: cloud hosting and rendering (for example AWS), our payment processor, email delivery, analytics (Google, Cloudflare) and text-to-speech providers that process the script you submit. We do not sell personal data.
4. Retention
Account data is kept while your account exists and for up to 12 months after deletion for backups and legal purposes. Uploaded audio used for lip-sync is deleted after rendering unless you save it in a project. Rendered videos are kept while your account is active. Analytics data is retained according to the provider’s settings (Google Analytics: 14 months).
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

7. International transfers
Data may be processed in the United States and the European Union. Where required, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
8. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
We will post changes here and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
